Beatrice Taponecco sources her Carrara marble from the same quarry as Michelangelo. Her monumental statue will be unveiled in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, on 29 October 2025.
The Carrara marble sculptor will unveil her monumental work on 29 October 2025 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, on the border with Italy. After winning an international competition for the installation of public sculptures, Beatrice chose a block of white marble of rare quality from the Cava Ruggetta quarry. This marble quarry has historical value because Michelangelo himself came here to choose the raw material for his sculptures in the 15th and 16th centuries.
Thanks to this high-quality marble, Beatrice has created this sculpture 270 cm high entitled ‘Sconfinando’, of exceptional beauty.
